Dr Joy Chan is Medical Director and Senior Consultant at the International Eye Cataract Retina Centre, practising at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre and Farrer Park Medical Centre. She previously served as a Consultant at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Jurong Medical Centre, and National University Hospital. Dr Chan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2004 and obtained her Membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2008 and Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore in 2011. After completing her training at the Singapore National Eye Centre, she underwent fellowship training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at National University Hospital. Dr Chan specialises in oculoplastic surgery and advanced cataract procedures, including femtosecond laser-assisted surgery and computer-assisted toric lens implantation. She previously served as a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Achivements:
Gold Medal/Book Prize in Ophthalmology (NUS, 2003) and Academic Medicine Development Award (2013).
Published on eyelid laxity techniques, imaging, and rare conditions; spoke at local/international conferences.
Led Oculoplastic Service at Ng Teng Fong Hospital and skilled in femtosecond laser cataract/toric IOL.
Taught postgraduate cataract/oculoplastic courses as Clinical Lecturer.
