COVID-19 can cause serious life-threatening complications and vaccination is an important tool to help stop the COVID-19 pandemic. Worldwide, healthcare and other essential workers have been given priority to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
As part of Singapore’s nationwide COVID-19 vaccine rollout, doctors and staff from International Eye Cataract Retina Centre at Farrer Park Medical Centre and Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre began receiving the 2-dose Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on 9 January 2021.
Medical Director and Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist Dr Ajeet Madhav Wagle who received his first dose of the vaccine in Farrer Park Hospital, was all praise for the smooth operation of the mass vaccination process. “In addition to all the current safe management measures such as mask wearing and physical distancing, this COVID-19 vaccine will help to protect us, our loved ones and our patients,” he said.

Besides the myriad of precautionary measures that our clinics have already undertaken to ensure that our patients receive the utmost care in a safe environment, they can now be assured that their eye care providers at International Eye Cataract Retina Centre are also vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus.
